Looking Better Online

In only a moment, if not a split-second,  will your online dating profile have the chance to be viewed in the cyber-dating world. We all know that we want to look our best in order to get selected by a potential date.

This is where Look Better Online comes in to help singles. After seeing their testimonials from couples who met online and headed to the altar, I decided to give their service a try. With photographers all across the United States, Canada, and England, it was simple to find a photographer in my area by typing in my zip code.

julienewI booked a photo shoot with Alex, one of their top photographers, who lived in my area. With four packages to pick from based upon the quantity of photos you choose, it was easy to select one that fit my needs.

Instantly I was able to select some shots that both Alex and I liked.  I look forward to using their photos in my next online dating profile.

Check out their site. It’s an investment well worth your time and I was thrilled with the results.

Cyber Love Story of the Week – Sophie and Greg

When Greg put up his online dating profile, he was frustrated with the women he was meeting when their photos didn’t match up to what they appeared to in person.

Greg ventured outside of his zip code and asked himself, “Parle vous francais?” when he wrote to Sophie who was living in Paris. For five months the couple traded emails, phone calls, and faxes.  Finally the day arrived where Sophie decided to plan a two week vacation to the U.S. to meet Greg.

The trip went to so well that she extended it to three weeks. Greg followed up with a trip to Paris and four months later he proposed to Sophie in a French restaurant in San Diego. In only eight months they were married with two ceremonies, one in Paris and another in California.  They celebrated with a Caribbean honeymoon and now have a beautiful baby.

The couple met on JDate®.com — sophisticated, fun, cool Jewish singles. Congratulations to Sophie and Greg, our Cyber Love Story of the Week at cyberdatingexpert.com

Wine Pairing Tips for the Holidays

By Heather Jumah

I maintain that there is no “right” or “wrong” when deciding which wine to drink, I believe you should drink what you enjoy and not follow any rules.  However, when you pair the right wine with the right food in some cases it can make a mundane meal, magnificent.  And while we all enjoy our standard fare during the holiday season, pairing the perfect wine with a holiday feast can make your meal divine.  So here some “suggestions” for pairing the perfect wine with your holiday menu.

Destination Weddings

The destination wedding celebration. It’s the latest trend for brides and grooms.  According to Adrienne Sasson, a Certified Destination Wedding and Honeymoon Specialist, over one out of six wedding couples are choosing a destination wedding for their ceremony and celebration.

So if you’ve just become engaged, after “Congratulations” the first question from everyone is, “When is the big day?” Today, we also need to ask, “Where will you be married?” Just this year alone I know some newlyweds who were married in Mexico, Hawaii, and the Caribbean.

Why has the destination wedding become so popular? There are so many reasons brides and grooms are choosing to take the show on the road. The destination wedding is perceived as a less stressful way to plan a wedding. Since most of the planning is done with the on-site coordinator and the travel planner, it reduces the time for couples to look at wedding sites as well as talk to caterers, photographers, and entertainers.

With so many families and friends geographically spread out needing to fly to the wedding anyway, guests can combine your celebration with a long overdue vacation.

Once the bride and groom arrive to their chosen destination almost everything has been completed. Some destinations will require a blood test and perhaps signing official papers.  The pre-wedding dinner will most often be held at the hotel or resort as will the wedding.

After the ceremony, guests can stroll over to the reception area while the photographer is snapping pictures of the new couple. All this at a leisurely pace with wonderful scenery. Who can ask for more?

Singular Magazine Holiday Party

It was a fun filled evening in Century City where Publisher, David Wright and Editorial Director, Kim Calvert of Singular Los Angeles Magazine hosted their “Holiday Party and Friend Exchange.” The evening celebrated the magazine’s entry to the market and was a nice gathering for singles to meet and greet on the West Side of Los Angeles.

Julie Spira and Julie Newmar

Among the crowd were singles, matchmakers, and one lucky person who won a free overnight stay at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Century City.  Even Julie Newmar, the original “Cat Woman” who’s single, came out for the festivities.

Guests received the first two copies of the Magazine which premiered this fall. The holiday edition comes complete with The Ultimate Gift Guide. Singular magazine focuses on single life in Los Angeles and is accompanied by their social networking website www.singularlife.com.

Ooh La La Louvre – Part Deux

If you can’t make it to the Louvre on December 11-14, 2008, where a group show of artists from the Karen Lynne Gallery will be on display, you can practice your French instead and head over to their Beverly Hills Gallery to view other pieces from their collection.

I stopped by the gallery for an opening reception to see the pieces that didn’t make it to Paris and very much enjoyed “Museo Belle Arti” by Lucien Feitussi. The artist is well known for painting the Blue Room at The White House.  Also on display were several bronzes by Tony Dow, better known as Wally from Leave it to Beaver.

Spago’s own wine director, Kevin O’Connor was pouring his latest vintage from his personal winery called LIOCO.

Afterwards, I walked across the street to the newly opened Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills.  It is nothing short of grand. Mark Hefter, the Sommelier at the restaurant on site gave me a personal tour of the private dining rooms, kitchen, and the Chef’s Table, a private dining room set next to the magnificent open kitchen. It’s a welcome addition to the city arriving just in time for the holidays. And it’s a wonderful spot to meet one of your online dates during this holiday season.

Those who are lucky in love sometimes end up in Las Vegas.  And while in Vegas, don’t forget to see the Beatles LOVE Cirque du Soleil performance at the Mirage.  The production highlights the Beatles and their music. If your plans aren’t taking you to Vegas in the near future, pick up the CD of Love (CD + Audio DVD) online and you can hum to your favorite love songs throughout the holidays. The compilation of 26 tracks won 2 Grammy’s at the 50th annual Grammy Awards in February, 2008.
