Cyber Love Story of the Week – Paula and Jeff
Oct 30th
Jeff had just returned home from college and had successfully lost almost 100 pounds when he put his online dating profile up on JDate®.com. Coincidentally, Paula went to the same school as Jeff and they were both Dodger fans. There wasn’t an instant connection, but over a period of time the two became close.
Then, on Christmas morning 2008, Jeff wrapped an engagement ring in a big box and put it under his aunt’s Christmas tree. It was Paula’s first time celebrating Christmas, and when she unwrapped the gift, she thought she found an empty box. In a romantic gesture, Jeff got down on one knee and asked Paula to marry him. She of course said yes and the two just sat and hugged each other that morning.
On May 30, 2010, Paula and Jeff will exchange marriage vows before all of their family and friends.
Congratulations to our Paula and Jeff who met on JDate®.com from your friends at CyberDatingExpert.com.

The Women’s Conference
Oct 28th

The Women's Conference 2009
Every year the First Lady of California hosts the Women’s Conference in Long Beach, CA. I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to attend this empowering event and we are lucky to have Maria Shriver as our First Lady.
On the evening prior to the big event, I attended the Night at the Village along with 10,000 other women. I arrived just in time to see Paula Deen, foodie and television star and enjoyed watching heart-throb Mario Lopez interview authors Valerie Bertinelli, who told us about her two year diet success story and said that maintenance is a never-ending journey as well as Candace Bushnell who talked about her latest bestselling book, One Fifth Avenue. Mario admitted he was a fan of Sex and the City along with other men who wanted to know how women ticked. We waved hello to Maria Schriver and her cousin, Caroline Kennedy who were both signing copies of their books on our way out.
The full conference day featured speakers including, Madeleine Albright, Katie Couric, Kate Gosselin, and even snuck in a few good men including, Ashton Kutcher, Sir Richard Branson, and of course the Governor himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Cyberdating Tip – Find the Time
Oct 26th
In the weeks leading up to the holidays, I will be providing some of my favorite dating tips to help you find love online.
Cyberdating Tip. FIND THE TIME TO SPEND ON MEETING SOMEONE.
Quite often, someone will sign up for an online dating service when they really don’t have the time to either initiate or respond to email introductions. It’s important to carve out the time and make it a priority, especially if you are interested in finding someone by the holidays. Halloween is already this weekend and Thanksgiving will be here before you know it.
You schedule time to go to the gym, meet up with your friends for drinks, or watch your favorite television show. If you are too busy to find the time to write back to those who are pursuing you, or you don’t have time to select potential mates, you won’t get the result you want. It also isn’t fair to those who write to you who are sincere in their intentions.
My dating advice this week is for you to schedule three nights a week, one hour per night to view online dating profiles. Write to those who pique your curiosity, and respond to those you may be interested in. Make the time and have an overflowing Inbox.
Good luck with your search, and if you meet that someone special online, please do let us know.

Peril of the Week – You’re Under Arrest
Oct 23rd
In one of the most embarrassing moments in an cyber dater’s date card, a woman went out on a date with a man she met online. They met at a public place. She wanted to know as much about him as possible so he brought his children with him on their first date.
After going to the movies with the entire clan, he dropped his children off at their mother’s home so he could continue the second part of their date at a restaurant for a quiet dinner.
Unfortunately, two uniformed police officers were waiting for him when he returned his children to their home. Apparently he had violated his parole. To make the matter more interesting, she received a call from the local jail a few hours later requesting that she bail him out with a hefty sum of money.
That was her first, and last date with the gentleman who ended up behind bars in the middle of their date. It was truly a dating disaster.

Having a Crush at Any Age
Oct 21st
Do you remember when you were young and had a schoolboy or schoolgirl crush? Do you remember the feeling of having butterflies in your stomach when you thought of that person? Do you recall both the excitement and anxiety that filled your heart?
Having a crush not only keeps your imagination alive, but it is good for your body. Studies prove that by having a crush, hormones are released that will make you feel sexier and help you attract members of the opposite sex. It allows doors to open and the possibilities to come to the surface.
Just recently, I announced to a friend that I had a crush on Roger Daltrey, lead singer of The Who. I know it sounds silly, but when I had the chance to meet him in person, I jumped at the chance. It was a crush come true. Since that evening I started asking both singles and married couples about their crushes past and present. Call it a crush boot camp or a crush marathon, but everyone enjoyed the conversation. It just made us feel good.
Answers ranged from Bruce Springsteen and President Barack Obama, to Kirsten Dunst and Angelina Jolie. Some even expressed fond memories of the girl next door while in grade school.
More importantly, many have admitted to having crushes while on their first cyber-date from someone they met online.
Call it preparation for getting ready to be available for a new relationship to blossom, or use it to keep your existing relationship alive and exciting. It doesn’t have to be a crush on a celebrity. Any feelings of emotions that get the endorphins flowing may result in you smiling more, feeling better about yourself, and turn a fantasy crush into the reality of a new relationship.
My latest dating advice is to take a moment and reflect on your past or present crushes and see how it makes you feel. Your next crush may be right around the corner.
