Peril of the Week – Not a Strip Mall, Sweetie

Once upon a time, a male  friend of mine joined Match.com® Official Site after finding himself single when his marriage dissolved.

stripmall1He shared a story with me about a hot woman he met online who he described as beautiful with perfect skin and in his words, “A booty that would have made Sir Mix-A-Lot slam on the brakes.” He added that she said “sweetie” a lot.

He thought his new love interest was terrific. She was intelligent and loved to laugh. She also had a natural talent for the art of flirting. She was “into” my friend and he was enjoying the ride.

On their first date, after two glasses of red wine, the conversation turned to what she did for a living. His bombshell date had claimed to be self-employed. He wondered what that exactly meant so he asked her in a rather curious way and was not prepared for her response.

She told him that she ran a chain of strip clubs in a matter-of-fact kind of way. He thought she was a classy woman from a good home who lived in a good neighborhood. A bit confused, he replied with, “You mean a strip mall, right? With the nail salons, a tanning place and a Chinese restaurant?” She replied with, “No, silly! LOL! I mean like…..you know…strip clubs. The kind with girls.”

By this point, my buddy had decided the date was over. She wasn’t the girl for him. He had never been a patron of a strip club before and he had no reason to start now.  He heard from her again with some risky photos she emailed him, and he clicked the delete button. It wasn’t much long after this, that he met the love of his life online who he is now happily married to.
