Where’s Julie? What a Pair – A Concert of Women’s Duets
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Breast cancer is the #2 killer of women.
There are many benefits to raise money for this important cause and several retail stores are chipping in to donate a percentage of their sales for the support of breast cancer research.
Recently, I attended, “What A Pair! 7,” a charity concert of women’s duets which benefited the John Wayne Cancer Institute at St. John’s Health Center. The event was held at the Eli and Edythe Broad Stage at the Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center.
The female-celebrity cast included former Miss America Mary Ann Mobley, Laugh-In’s Joanne Worley, violinist Lii Haydn, and performer Deborah Gibson along with an incredible cast. The highlight was the appearance of Jason Alexander along Steven Weber from the Producers, who dressed up in drag sang “The Beauty that Drives Men Mad.”
All I can say is, “What a Show!”
