He’s Just Not Your Type (And That’s a Good Thing)

Today my friend and fellow dating and relationship author, Andrea Syrtash is celebrating. It’s the release date for her new book, He’s Just Not Your Type (and that’s a good thing): How to Find Love Where You Least Expect It, and we’re joining in on the festivities.

Last week, we were treated to a sneak peek of the book on Ask the Cyber-Dating Expert Radio Show, and it’s with great delight that I am adding this book to the Cyber-Dating Expert Reading Room as a recommended read.

Andrea’s dating and relationship advice comes from an authentic point of view. Her values are completely in line with what we talk about at Cyber-Dating Expert. She uses her own personal story of how her husband Michael, who was not her type. Now, she is happily married and discusses with great enthusiasm about the benefits of dating and mating with a man you originally thought was not your type.

Andrea calls these men the NTs. NTs come in a few flavors including:

  • DNT – Departure Non-Type
  • SNT – Superficial Non-Type
  • CNT – Circumstantial Non-Type

She also has an appendix that includes online dating dos and don’ts.

The Truth About Men Will Set You Free

It was with great anticipation that I waited for the arrival of Dr. Pat Allen’s latest book, The Truth About Men Will Set You Free: …but first it’ll p*ss you off!?I am a huge fan of her best-selling book,?Getting to ‘I Do’?and have attended her workshops.?

The subject of science in mating and relationships is a huge topic right now. Many online dating sites have personality profiling, there is gene testing, and yet we are still so confused about how to mate successfully.?

In her book, which is co-authored by Don Schmincke, Pat Allen defines the rule of mating. She stated that guys use “things” to prove love and girls use “love” to prove things. She goes further by stating that “love is what females give sex for and sex is what guys give love for.” Does it sound confusing? Not if you read this book. According to Dr. Pat Allen, this is why guys can program the VCR better than women. Dr. Pat Allen has been studying this for over 30 years. She should know.

She encourages women to let their estrogen roll and to capitalize on body language with these tips:

  • Eyes: Paint them.
  • Lips: Make them red.
  • Clothing: Stress the female shape.
  • High Heels: Use’em.
  • Breasts: Expose them.
  • Exercise and Diet: You know this.

Pat tells women, ?”You might let your guy know that he could have a better chance of whispering “sweet nothings” to you in your left ear versus your right. Then again, you might not want to.”

Why Hasn’t He Proposed?

Have you ever found yourself in the terrible position where you have given the man of your dreams the big ULTIMATUM? Unfortunately, I did once, and yes it did backfire on me. Since that time, I learned my lesson well, and know it will never happen again.

While I was on a recent trip to New York, I had the pleasure of meeting Matt Titus and Tamsel Fadel, the authors of this terrific book, Why Hasn’t He Proposed?: Go from the First Date to Setting the Date.?I love their style and thought I would share it with you in this month’s Reading Room on the Cyber-Dating Expert site.

Matt Titus and Tamsen Fadel are relationship experts and their book will hit home for many. They are happily married and the duo has appeared as relationship experts in Lifetime’s ?”Matched in Manhattan.”

This book is this commonsense guide on if, when, and how you can get your man to pop the question.

In this book you will learn how to:

  • Determine if he’s truly “Mr. Right”-or hopelessly “altarphobic”
  • Figure out why he’s afraid to get married-and how to calm those fears
  • Get him to propose without nagging, crying, or issuing ultimatums
  • Start your relationship off on the right track

This guide is shows you the perfect, no-pressure way to take your love to the next level-with “he says, she says” insights, relationship “red flags,” long-term secrets for lasting success, and real-life stories from the author’s famous dating service. It even includes a relationship timetable that will tell exactly when to take the next step-straight down the aisle to the marriage of your dreams.

I recommend this book to readers, and wonder if my life might have been different if it was available years ago. But then again, life is filled with lessons learned.
