It was standing room only on Sunday May 3, 2009, where Cyber-Dating Expert Julie Spira presented her first published book, The Perils of Cyber-Dating: Confessions of a Hopeful Romantic Looking for Love Online at Book Soup on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood.

The author mingled with the crowd and then read several excerpts from her book. This included her Profile Definitions, where she described her personal and funny side-by-side comparisons of “What they Say” and “What they Mean” in an online dating profile. In addition, Spira shared a few hilarious stories from her chapter entitled, “The Joy of Cyber-Dating” with those who broke her personal rules of netiquette. This included “The Tennis Pro” and “Oy Vey” who both had startling endings to what should have been a perfect date.

After a brief question and answer period, Spira signed copies of her book and raffled off her Cyber Love Basket, filled with over $3,000 in romantic gifts guaranteed to spice up your love life as well as a weekend for two to the legendary La Quinta Resort and Club in La Quinta, California.

Guests who purchased a copy of The Perils of Cyber-Dating received a VIP gift bag, with over $200 in items and gift certificates.

Spira thanked her sponsors and supporters who included: Beyond Physical Therapy, Byu-Ti Salon, Elite Travel International, Great Skin, Dr. Judi Bloom, The La Quinta Resort and Club, Lock and Key Events, M Salon on Melrose, Massage by Solla, RH restaurant at the Andaz Hotel, Shirin Mottandi, Singular Magazine and,, Step Up Women’s Network, Steve at Claudio d’ Italia, and
