It was the first luncheon of the New Year for members of the Beverly Hills Literary Society. We had the opportunity to dine with and listen to the the witty and humorous words of Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist, Richard Russo. ?Russo, author of Nobody’s Fool, which was turned into a film starring Paul Newman, told the intimate group that if Newman had not agreed to accept the role, that the project would not have been produced. ?Russo also discussed his most recent book, Bridge of Sighs, of which we all received a signed copy, ? We heard a personal sneak-preview of the upcoming book the author is working on called,?That Old Cape Magic which Russo said had started off as a short story, but was capped off at 350 pages.
